The mainland of Massawa (1) the Massawa Housing Complex
In February 1976 the Keangnam Enterprises Company started the Massawa Housing Complex, which is
financed by the Housing and Commerce Bank of Eritrea. The project covers an area of 206,000 m3
in Kutmia, close to the sea.
The project includes 26 residential buildings, 8 office buildings, a commercial center, an
elementary school and for recreation a tennis court, a basketball ground, a football ground and
a children's playground
The project was finished in 2000.

The new Massawa bus station was build in 2000. From here one is
supposed to take a local minibus or taxi to the center of Massawa
(4 kilometer) or the Gurgusum Beach and its hotels (12 kilometer).
